As my birthday comes ever closer, I find myself stuck between a goose-down pillow and a soft place. Should I ask for a new exhaust (check it out !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) or a new set of rims (see it !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ).

If you are going to be equally happy with either, then split the most expensive one with your Dad and save up for the other later on.

Personally, I'd go for the exhaust. It sounds good.

I agree, though I'm a little afraid of coming off as a jerk blasting around in what some will see as an obnoxiously loud exhaust

They use a car with the check engine light on to promote their product, no thanks. Get the wheels, then you won't have to listen to the exhaust drone all the time. It gets annoying real fast.

Are you going to be doing racing of any sort? If not, go for exhaust. It makes the car a ton more fun to drive on the street! Wheels should come second so that it will make you pleased to look at. I made the mistake of getting exhaust parts first, when I need wheels for autox :'(

If you get wheels you need to go lower before you buy them otherwise it looks weird (my opinion).
I'd say get the exhaust and save up for suspension.

Yeah, that's my dilemma between buying a Magnaflow or not getting one. I don't want to be "That Guy" if the stock exhaust sounds good, go for the wheels, either way it will end up good.

Get one with a good muffler and resonator and you won't have drone!

I would like to think I'm going to race it, but that SCCA application has been sitting around for awhile... :)

Exhaust all day. Then run and grab a portable tuner to make the most of it. Much fun.

I think it sounds pretty good, I already have a short ram intake so it does have a really good spool up sound (don't even get me started on the blowoff), so maybe wheels is a good option

Flamethrower alert at 3:17! I would probably check out some Genesis forums to see if anybody else is running the same setup to ask whether or not it turns you into a cop magnet and if at highway/cruising speed there is a bearable amount of drone.
Those wheels look nice, tire rack is usually doing some sort of deal for konigs.

I say do it! It is a ton of fun! If you do decide to do a bit of grassroots racing, get some wheels. Make sure the diameter with the new tires will be that around stock, that way you don't have to upgrade the suspension either.

Also have you thought of a downpipe+tune? It will give you more performance than the catback and it might be cheaper as well! Plus there will be an increase in noise as well. You have a turbo, exhaust mods will do a lot more for you, than us NA guys.

Yeah! If it sounds good, why not make it look better.

Wheels all the way my friend. Stock exhaust on that car sounds great as is, especially with an intake
